Dear Mr. Maxwell,
My fellow students and I have learned from a reliable source that you are making a new policy in which school uniforms will be required. I would like to tell you on behalf of my fellow students and myself that we strongly disagree with this new policy. We have some reason why not to have school uniforms and we would like to share these reasons with you. We would like you to know our opinion on this before you make your final decision on this policy. We would appreciate it if you read this
One reason I think we shouldn’t wear school uniforms is because some of us believe that it will take away our identity. The clothes we wear tell something about us and if everyone wears the same thing we’re all the same. Our clothes make us unique and different from the others in our school. If we all wear the same thing then it doesn’t make us unique we’re all the same and without our clothes its like we have no identity. Without our clothes we’re all just blobs of black and white or blue or whatever you make us wear.
Another reason why we shouldn’t have uniforms is because it would create more conflict. The students wouldn’t like this new policy and they would rebel against the faculty. They would change the uniform in any way they could find and come to school. So instead of reducing dress code violations you’d be increasing them. If you ‘d make us wear uniforms many of us would be very angry.
That brings up another point if you make this policy the whole student body will despise you. We will go on strike and refuse to take part in any school activities. We will rebel and we will not back down until you repeal this act of treachery. We will despise you and go against every one of your rules. We hope you understand our reasoning in this.
In conclusion we would like it if you wouldn’t make us wear school uniforms. First of all it takes away our identity and it takes away our uniqueness. Second it will cause more conflict than reduce it. Last but not least, we will rebel and do whatever it takes to make you change your decision. We appreciate the time you have taken out of your busy schedule to read this. We hope you will see our reasoning and will agree with us. Once again we really appreciate it.
Your Student,
